This is interesting news. Now Nokia will have a good foothold in apps world (both Qt and Java on S40 and also apps for WP7) and also post-apps world (HTML5 with MeeGo browser).

I might actually become a Nokia shareholder again...

this does not mean they'll somehow bring qt to their WP ecosystem as well? right?

No. They have stated that they are not going to do it.

It would make sense to me if they would.

Yep, but journalists & analysts doesn't see the big picture. It's amazing :-) Qt is cool.

I don't see the big picture. How will Qt prosper at Nokia while Windows phones are phased in and Symbian phones are phased out?

So a Nokia guy saying basically "Don't worry everybody, Qt isn't dead yet"... what is the news here? Haven't they beel telling us all along that Qt isn't dead yet?

indeed... just more lies from Nokia.... maybe if another company makes a meego phone, will there be Qt on a phone again. Until that, it's a dead end.

That's what I'm trying to figure out. Unlikely that Microsoft would allow Qt to get a foothold on Windows, so how are they going to grow Qt? I doubt that the N9 will be enough.
