Hi, since installing the latest update I'm having a problem with the application manager program. Everytime I try and refresh the list I get the message 'Unable to refresh list. Last refreshed list is shown'.

The last refreshed list is dated 19/04/07. Anyone else with this problem? Any ideas how to resolve. I have re-installed the update but get the same issue.

There is a problem with one of your repository, to check which one :
[you will need the osso-xterm and becomeroot or godmode package]
- run xterm
- be root (sudo gainroot)
- refresh the repository list (apt-get update)
=> just read the error and correct the repository with problems

No need for xterm. Just check the logs of the app manager under "Tools".

Did you check the log? (Menu, Tools, Log)

Ton.

The last info in the log is at the bottom. Feel free to clear it (there's an option for that) before you try another update, after that you'll only see relevant entries. Then go ahead and disable (no need to remove, unless it's a wrong or obsolete repository) the offending repositories from the catalogue, then retry. Sometimes a repo is only temporarily available (those 3party repos), so now and then you can re-enable one such and retry.

Osso Xterm (advanced)

and you'll also probably want:

becomeroot
Home Page: http://eko.one.pl/index.php?page=Nok...are#becomeroot
Status: Working
Version: 0.1-2
Repository: http://eko.one.pl/maemo
Distribution: mistral
Component: user
A faster way to get root access on Nokia 770 (without R&D mode). As long as you keep installed this packages, you can become a root (in xterm session):

$ sudo gainroot
WARNING: This packages could brick the device (by touching /usr/sbin/gainroot file). DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
