The default clock on N900 is slow. It takes about 3-4 (I think) second to start. Is there some faster application? I use the alarm clock almost everyday and would welcome something faster. Tried serching for it but it did not turn anything.

You could install fcron [1] and create a crontab that plays your most/least favourite song to to wake you up. Creating a fast interface for that would just be a question of proper aliases.
