My Nokia 900 has recently died. I need to send it to Nokia for repair as it is still within it's warenty period.

I understand that the usb connection issue is a common problem and it seems that Nokia send out a new phone (e-7 or n8)

Just wondering, the e-7 and n8 are fairly old now. At the moment if I were to send it to Nokia, what phone should I expect as a replacement. Lumia?

Thanks

Get the E7 and sell it boxed for a higher price then add a money difference and get the phone you wish . I'm giving you this advice from my point of view because I won't use symbian again , it's a nice OS but it's outdated .

Nokia replaced my N900 with another N900 a couple weeks ago here in the US so they still have some in stock. While I was waiting, I bought a used E7 to use. I agree with the poster above that Symbian is outdated and not very good even after Belle update.

Nokia UK are pretty cool. I had an issue with the antenna failing, sent it in, they tested it, claimed it was fine and sent it back.

I returned it, along with a fairly in-depth explanation and a suggestion that someone jumps into car with it, so it is forced to change cell sites and then they'll see the problem.

Got a phone call when the item was received and they said they'd put it through the normal procedure then flag it for a full check when it came through the repair process.

Got a phone call a day later and they explain it had failed and they were going to replace the mainboard.

All very impressive. All it took was a courteous letter to get things moving. That said, without the reference of TMO or the bugzilla, I wouldn't have had a leg to stand on. The syslog of the gsm unit getting all wound up must have helped too.
