Hey guys, I'm so sorry to bring this up again to you, but I have no idea what's going on. I have my current N9 set up the same as the one I had before, yet apps are still crashing left and right, and the phone reboots a few times a day. I'm not even pushing it very hard!

The most common thing that will happen is if I open the mail app and scroll down immediately after opening, it'll crash. Or if I open messages and press on a thread to see it, it'll crash. Or in the browser, it crashes maybe 10-20 times a day (I use my phone a LOT). I don't really use too many other apps so I don't know if they crash too, but holy HELL my apps are unstable as hell.

I've come to the conclusion that the phone will never be as smooth as I want it, but maybe Jolla's Meego OS will fix that. I just want to know why stuff is crashing SO much.

Only things I've done so far are:
FasterN9 (It crashed a lot even without this)
N9QTweaks (Faster transitions and smartsearch priority changed only)

I've used N9QTweaks before and had no issues so I don't think it's that. Got any ideas anyone?

I think you need to do a reflash once to clear everything up...

I use the browser a lot too (check my online status at TMO for a clue ) but it never crashes so if you have such random crashes do a full reflash (rootfs+emmc)...

Did you try running for a couple of days on a stock n9 after a reflash?

I primarily use my GNexus because it works much better for me as a phone, but I love the design and style of the N9 so I'm currently using it now. I've only been on it for the 2nd consecutive day in a row now after reflashing it. Do you think it'll get better over time?

Hi, can you elaborate a little more on what you mean by "Crash"? I see the topic title says "unresponsive" so I'm just curious so it would be nice for all if you can walk us through what happens in steps...

When you open an app, (say the browser) does the browser freeze, do you find that sometimes you can zoom with one finger and if links open by themselves?

Also, if the screen locks up do you have to press and release the power button, then swipe to wake up screen?

Or do the apps just close completely?

Sorry, unresponsive was a bad choice of words.

When I open the browser, sometimes I will go to a website and bam, the browser closes. From the time of writing the first post to this post, messages has closed spontaneously while I was typing 3 times, and my browser crashed while I was on wikipedia once already.

My phone doesn't actually lock up. I don't have issues where I'm zooming with one finger or random stuff happens by itself. Everything just closes. All the time.

Edit: And it just rebooted by itself. I went into settings, the moment the card popped up, the LED light in the bottom corner goes on, the phone freezes, and it restarts.

This might not lead to much but on a hunch, I would be keen to look into the battery usage on your phone? It might be that your phone keeps going in to powersave mode and closing apps if it believes their is an exessive battery drain...

Could you check that powersave of off in... Settings > Device > Battery >Power save: OFF

This menu will also give you the Battery condition status too.

Then if it is possible (I understand this may take some time), download the Battery Monitor tool from ovi and check the Average consumption.

It may be that you have a dud battery or it can be another thing to rule out?

Edit: Thanks for replying to my post mate, I was first thinking that there maybe a screen fault. Mine shows similar symptoms to my post.

Power save is off, and I will download Battery Monitor anyway, it sounds useful.

And my battery condition is "Good."
