Hello,

When trying to flash my N9 I getting the following error:

Suitable USB device not found, waiting.
USB device found found at bus 001, device address 006.
Found device RM-696, hardware revision 1501
NOLO version 2.3.6
Version of 'sw-release': DFL61_HARMATTAN_40.2012.21-3_PR_001
X-Loader image is too big

I'm not really finding further information about this problem in the net, it might be mentioned in the one or other IRC log but I couldn't figure a way out.
Hints are very welcome!

...or another solution:
I've set a security code but I've lost my keyboard, as I lost the /usr/share/swype/data directory (and no, I don't have a regular/nonswype keyboard either).
That means that I can't really start the device, I mean I can enter the pin code but won't get further then.
It seems that SDK-access isn't available as well.
Therefore my idea is to just reflash the device in order to restore the keyboard. Any other solution is as good as well!
Thank you in advance!

Chris

have you tried with --erase-user-data=secure flag or coldflash in worst scenario with the -c flag?

If you don't mind going into open mode I don't know whether FIX MALF STATE can let you chroot in despite the pin lock to restore files and then boot the system up...

I don't want to delete all data because I made a backup last week but did not yet copy it from the phone to anywhere else
I will check the FIX MALF STATE thing, thank you for the hint didn't know that!

The Malf State thing worked for me, thanks again!
I could mount the file system and recover the /usr/share/swype/data directory.
Now the keyboard works fine again.
Obiviously something was changed in the phone settings as well, because the phone boots up without lock-screen now...
I mean, my only intention was to recover the keyboard, but I also accidently removed the password prompt without any authentication, mh.
Ok, of course the password doesn't really protect the data because one can easily mount the unencryptet filesystem anyways. On the other hand, I hope we will see an option to have the filesystem encrypted anytime soon in Jolla Sailfish...
Best regards and thanks again,

Chris

inte,

In open mode you don't have any device lock, MfE lock etc capabilities hence the problem you face...
