I'm sitting and waiting (impatiently) for my n800 to arrive right now.

While I was doing so I recalled my experience with a very slow memory card when I first got my digital camera (it really destroyed a quite good peice of hardware)

Can anyone recommend a good fast memory card (either model or brand) and conversly can anyone let me know of brands/models to stay away from?

There is lot of information on this topic in the forums but it is a bit scattered as people insist on starting new threads when the existing ones are perfectly adequate.

Best to try 'Search' and then make your own mind up.

My experience with SD cards and cameras tell me that smaller cards are faster than the 1gb and 2gb cards. My 512mb card outperforms everytime 3 to 1.

It may also have something to do that my 512 is sandisk brand, while then 1 and 2gb cards are offbrands.
