I donated my N9 to my god child and I installed Whatsup for him, although it's not working at 100% (sometimes there's a problem getting the thing online).

Anyway, just yesterday I noticed this setting "slaap modus" (Dutch), so now I'm wondering what it does. It doesn't seem to interfere with receiving messages, so what does it do?

This option disconnects whatsup from server to save battery, and reconnects every 30 minutes to check for new messages

Is there a way to distinguish between "disconnected" status because of sleep mode option versus "disconnected" status because of disconnect option?
