Log file in application manager is suggesting to run Apt-get *** when there is a problem with connecting and updating application list for installable applications. Does this make sense? It looks like application manager is GUI around Apt-get.

yes the app manager is GUI wrapper for apt-get. the error you are getting is because one of your repositories is malformed or unreachable. disable the offending repo and refresh the package list.

So, there is no need to run apt-get from Xterm.
Why log file is recommending this?

its an unhandled exception. there are only a few reasons for using apt-get from the command line (xterm), and they are few and far between.

for the most part, you can get away with only using the app manager and if need be go into Red Pill mode. search around if you need to get into Red Pill mode.

Application Manager won't refresh. I get message unable to refresh list. I removed bora catalog because the log showed this to be a problem but it did not help. It says to run app get. Which i don't know how to do either. Now i can't reinstall the bora catalog. What now?

First, empty the log (in application manager). Then try refreshing the list. Look at the log again. If it isn't clear what the problem is, post the log message(s) here.

I have tried uploading the log here, which I saved in my docs but it says invalid file. I will try again as soon as I can.
