Being that there are quite a few IT guys on the forums here, I'll toss this out there for some input.

We currently have a few dedicated servers for different projects, mainly hosted at The Planet. However they aging and pretty outdated at this point so I'm looking to make a move. Ideally I'm looking for:

- Dedicated server (dual Xeon, 2GB ram, 2 HD raid 1, 100GB or + transfer)
- Fedora Core 7 install
- Ideally located in Seattle (low latency from us in MT)

Anyone have some reliable options to look at? At this point I'm closing in on aplus.net which is located in CA but has reasonable ping times to here (MT).

Any input would be appreciated!

I'd recommend BlackKnight.ie I've been using them for years.
They are based in Ireland but have a very good backbone link to the US & Europe.

Hi

I wanted to ask this question to both dedicated server clients & resellers of servers. We're expanding our reseller program, and we have a couple routes to go.

The first is offering an API to resellers, so they can build functionality in to their existing systems.

The second is offering a generic version of a control panel, so that clients could log in to this. Billing & support for the client of the reseller would not be built in, so two different systems, but the functionality would be the same as if the client were to purchase directly from us.

There isn't anything that says we couldn't do both, but I wanted to just get some preferences.

Thanks!

Why don't you just update your server?

As far as I know, The Planet fusioned to Softlayer not long ago. Maybe try getting new servers through Softlayer?

Regards
