I think its a glitch/"charging mode" - I have never had my N900 boot while plugged into USB.
Just unplug it before starting it up - Not that big a deal.

I cadillac live with it but I'd rather have it fixed.

I've had the same problem for the last month or so.
One thing I have noticed is when the phone is plugged in, the five white dots (indicator-updates) play smooth and in order. Then the phone stops booting.
When it is unplugged, the five white dots seem glitchy and out of order. Then the phone boots fine.
I can't think of anything I installed or changed when it started happening. I don't overclock.

If no solution is found, i would recommend making a external/internal charging system like mine, or get a desktop charger and swap battery's.

Sorry i can be of any other help.

Only thing i can think of is if you use windows and IE to download the flash image?, it is always recommended to download big files from the net through firefox or anything else other then IE.
I can remember when i used win + before i used firefox, this was a problem often.

OK seriously dude you are heading for a BAN, you have spamed that question on many threads now, normally it can take some hours before you get a response.

BUT NOBODY WILL HELP YOU WHEN YOU DO THIS!!!!

try conky status bar switcher, it tells you how much percent your battery has.
