there were 1200 participants last year, so if there turns out to be 12'000, obviously that's a lot more...
if it's only a couple thousands, one might be wondering what they were thinking when making that promise, no?
like i said, guestimate is enough; we'll have the official nbrs in a few days

i'm pretty sure NOKIA has that policy too, thus, so should its employees or employees of partners ...

That wasn't said. They just said to me, that there are not enough devices and therefore they will not distribute devices. I don't know if this is true of course.

Most of the stuff I wrote in this thread was information coming from Nokia. Some subjective statements like "the UI is awesome" of course did not came from Nokia but are my own impressions.

Also this site is not runned by Nokia. The server costs are sponsored by Nokia which are not that high (I think) that we couldn't get them via donations. Nokia doesn't have to say anything over here.

damn, this is turning into a nightmare, firstly we were shocked with all the consumer device without hwkb fuss but when we were told that it'll surely have much better hardware we somehow accepted that (hardly) and now day after day we find out that it probably won't.. maybe it'll have even worst specs if i presume that the dev device will have 12mp camera and the consumer device "only" 8mp, not mentioning the hwkb ofc. I mean come on, someone wake me up, this freakin sux.
And just for the record, i'm not blaming you guys who gave us the info, you deserve at least a thank you but omg.. f*ck you nokia, had your phones for 10yrs, even after the shitty n97 i decided to stick with you and bought the n900, the only good device that nokia made in last 5years (thank god that they made at least this one right).. and now when i'm getting really thirsty for a new device it looks that it'll be another f*ckup, well how can you expect it to sell well then? omg that's just stupid, and it's so frustrating, i want to have a new toy to play with and all that is left for me to buy is shitty android, ios and the biggest **** wp7! seems like if i'll always want to have a good phone, i'll have to use my n900 for life.

Ah and btw. Nokia won't distribute devices at the MeeGo Conference not because they hate us or something like that, but because there are not enough devices for every attendee.
they don't want to decide who should get one and who not.
