To be honest I don't have many hopes for meego being better than maemo for a long time. Maemo has been maturing since 2005 and has an active community developing apps for just as long. Meego doesn't even have a really working beta or apps out, and once it actually ships it will take a lot of time to catch up to maemo. (I'm not using any website that requires Flash 10, so I don't know much about that.)

You can try installing Mappero (in maemo's extras) - it uses map data from Open Street maps and Google maps. The latter has Chinese street names etc. - It also runs smoother than Nokia maps.

I can't think of any apps I feel are lacking, but I'm probably just being unimaginative - I like the fact that maemo allows people to write their own apps without any restrictions.
Android and IPhone 4 got better app support and they can use google map directly and got other map applications etc which is better than N900...

Maemo may be one of the best mobile os but the problem is nokia in which they are providing a very bad service and support for this device. As many people had already complain about it but nokia is just ignoring user feedback....

Yes, those platforms definitely have far more dedicated apps, though most of them are really not all that great. So I partly agree

Nokia's support for his device could be much much better, no question about that...

I'll add a "wow moment" not to get too far off topic :
When I used a script I wrote that automagically copied all my camera pictures to my fileserver through wifi just by pressing an icon (on-the-fly resizing optional).

Putting cutetube (youtube) Woody Woodpecker's via tv-out on my LCD 40i tv for my kids one day of stress without internet connection, via 3g, was a good point for me

Getting backupmenu to return all flashed-away content back. I bow my head humbly in the general direction of RobbieThe1st.

The recent wow moment is when Nokia dumped the N900 and yet the developers here caused it to flourish more than ever.

My wow moment was when I first saw it in action, on a CarphoneWarehouse shop in Manchester. It just looked stunning - I was sold there and then - got it shortly after and have enjoyed it ever since. Still can't find a phone out there to replace it.
