This is running on the Acer Iconia -- a Tegra 2 device! Very, very, impressive.
I can only imagine what games on the Tegra 3 could look like, with graphics this good on the Tegra 2. Increase the shaders (more lights, new materials), effects (partical effects, shadows), post processing (depth-of-field, flares), geometry (smoother textures), and physics(rag doll, toppling boxes) and you'll get something that will easily rival something like Gears of War on modern consoles in terms of graphics.
When they said console quality gaming on a mobile device, they weren't joking. It's ridiculously impressive stuff.
Oh, and the fact that this was developed in Unity 3D is pure gold. As you may or may not be aware, I was hugely excited for the Unity Android port! Expect many more games of this quality very soon.
I'm glad that developers are finally pushing games that are demanding more of the hardware, and although Tegra introduces platform fragmentation, they seem to be the producing an ecosystem and store that allow developers to deliver these higher quality games and make them easily accessible to buyers. It's like Apple's closed ecosystem, without the closed bit: it will still be possible (and rather easy) for developers to easily port to other devices.
Don't even get me started on Google TV. Think about it: with graphics this good, Android could be a very credible gaming system with easily downloadable content and online play. The audience will also be staggeringly large, making this extremely enticing to developers. I would get a Google TV Tegra 3/Exynos 4210/MSM8960/Omap5 any day, to play games and more.
Android went up a notch.

Problem is for a 7" even with some bells and whistles, you're going to have to keep it the same or probably less than the 10-inchers. Can't see $600 for a transformer with dock, and $800 for the Memo. $600 tough call, $500, where can I start the line?

It is rocking the SoC of a typical Viewsonic tablet. Tegra 2 plus a 1024x600, but in a 7" form factor.
This is lust worthy! I'm glad to see 7" making a comeback.
But they better hurry and release it before the MeMO pad, or they will lose the title of "First 7" Honeycomb Tablet"...

Sorry *clears throat* its large for a phone, for an ultraportable it is medium, for a tablet/netbook its small.
I think I now understand that Nokia are horrible at making tablets, they are completely incompetent. Perhaps Nokia should've wasted 100% of its MeeGO R&D to release a Nokia (STEricsson) tablet in 2010. Then it would make sense: Nokia phone as phone and tablet as the real worker.
Then Nokia could've start integrating its phone's to its tablets. (Wait this is sounding a lot like Palm). And promise to update MeeGo on it until MeeGo is matured enough to be used on smartphones. Then it could push Symbian to disposable devices, and MeeGo handsets for feature-phones and smartphones. But no, Nokia would rather play rock-scissors-paper to see who would hold the most shares, get to use the new printer, and have authority over its Twitter account.

Intel seems to be trying their luck on the tablet front, though it is still quite early. While these tablets may perform well for apps, expect games to be a barren wasteland thanks to (assumed) proliferation of C++/NDK development for games, and native ARM compilation.
It would be nice to gauge performance/battery life when these are a little more optimized. For now, they're slow.
However, sometimes you gotta roll the hard six...

I've been thinking about Android and gaming, and now that the technological pieces are in place, Android could use a proper service for gaming.
I think it would be great if Google had the equivalent of a XBox Live Arcade, that differentiates games from other types of applications, makes selection, purchasing, storage, etc. easy, and well suited to the gamer. Things like leader boards, achievements, multiplayer, social interaction (think habbo hotel), could be built into this framework.
This service could even offer technological pieces to aid development, such as use of the Google App Engine to host multiplayer game servers, making it far easier for indie developers to offer this feature.
I suspect that Nvidia is trying to do this with Tegra Zone, and I wish them luck. Tegra Zone separates games from all of the other noise in the market, and does so in a way that is attractive to gamers.
Games can still have a place in the market, but this would be an environment more suited to gaming related concerns, and a look and feel that reflects that.
Take a game like Bastion (XBLA) for example:

Oh, and on a competitive note, Microsoft has been mentioning XBLA for Windows Phone 7, and this is an area where they can dominate based on their experience and facilities. Of course, Ballmer seems clueless that he's holing this ace card. Google has a chance to beat him to the punch.
