well. flashing will probably be possible in some way. But if this is a consumer device for regular users, nokia must have created an easier way to restore and repair...

1) evidence may be mounting that customizable widgets will not be a built in part of the harmattan UX, but I am holding out hopes that we can hack that somehow ala queen beacon.

2) i think stereo speakers are standard these days (particularly in nokia phones)... are they not? i havent seen any reason to doubt that the n9/n950 will have these.

@suy

because clicking the power button and then sliding the screen is plain redundant and slow. And I hate that everybody copied that trash feature from old windows mobile, 3 clicks or one click and one drag on the screen for something which can be done with a long press of one button or better, with a sliding switch. And we still got the same number of buttons as the iphone.

The portable screen I carry with me would ideally be 5"-7" and matte, I use a Viliv S5 with Ubuntu on it currently. It would have an active digitiser or be resistive - HTC flyer is just about right in terms of its screen, though I need to be assured I can put a "full" OS on my device, Debian, Meego, Ubuntu, etc.. Ideally it should have a mode to be easily read just with ambient light - Pixel QI for example.

hum.. I had 3 batteries for my previous Tytn II (because battery worn out, so if you want to keep same uptime 2 years after buying... need new battery). I have two on my n900. I use the spare from time to time. I had also two for my laptop (5h when buying, 10min after 3y.. classic).
I don't care if I need a screwdriver to change the battery, but it does feel less like a disposable device if I can change it.
But hey, if the battery last longer (on one charge and during the product life), then, well.

Also I have one msd for my media and one for meego DE
but if we can partition the device it's ok

No, I don't mean that.

I don't think that I've said it. Second part is also true of course.

I can't confirm neither the single-core nor the resolution. But as I'm not 100% sure (CPU: "Same as in our first WP7 devices" ; resolution: "HD something-higher-than-N900-sharp-great-awesome-screen"^^) I don't think commenting on this would be wise.

Hope to got everyone. When I left home there were about 7 pages less. And it's a pain to post on a webOS device I'm currently using (compared to some other devices... ).

I am not trying to troll here and this is not a competition. I was as excited as you for this device. I even had the money stashed so I could get one of these the day it was out. But it seems it won't be better enough than my N900, to make the move. I am afraid that some of us will rush over the "ion" just because we have been waiting long enough for it and not because it will be a good device, and then we will rationalize that it was worth it. Just like iFans do.

Eg nfc is nice but will be as useful as bluetooth was on my T39, nobody else had it, and I upgraded twice until I had bt again. Back then IR was much more useful.
