Are you sure that you have correctly installed kernel-power package as it was described in instruction? You may use cpufreqUI or qcpufreq to set new limits easily and use conky to monitor current cpu frequency. Keep in mind that frequency is controlled by ondemand concept and switches dynamically between lo and hi limits. cpufrequi allows to change concept to userspace (fixed freq on your choice).

Please, give more detailed information about your problem.

Well, for starters, a lot of phones simply will not overclock higher than ~850 Mhz. Go read up in the Wiki on voltages, limits, other settings. Please, do some research by yourself :-)

yes , im sure that i have installed kernel power correctly

i did every single step

every time i overclocked my phone more than 950 such as 1000 and 1150 mhz , the phone reboot by itself ,

after rebooting , the screen shows that the kernel didnot load correctly

so any ideas

a quick power search for overclocking would do wonders

Not all the processors in the N900 are the same..they all have small differences..That is why some N900's can oc to 1GHz and others cant do the same cause of this difference.

Even on my N900 is can't go more than 900 MHz. If i go more then my phone will reboot just like urs..so don't worry its normal.

maybe you are right not sure

so how to differentiate between the two phones ?

but im sure there is some ways to solve the problem

The manufacturer promises the CPU can be overclocked to 600MHz.

Just because some CPUs manage more than that doesn't mean all will do more than that.

ok i presume you overclock you phone using QCPUFreq right???
when you try to overclock higher than 950MHz did you enable the SmartReflex??? if you do then that is the reason cause SmartReflex only works 805MHz & below...
