So I just got my A900 working with the 770 and went to visit one of my favorite sites, napkinnights.com, which has pics of the Vegas club scene.

I immediately noticed that the resolution of the pics on the website was lower with the connection through the A900 than with my wifi connection on the 770. I checked it out more and sure enough, it's true.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

if i'm not mistaken, your carrier is the cause. They lower the resolution and color so you get a better internet experience. At least that's what I read on a tmobile website. This is true if you surf the internet on laptop using your phone.

Yes, if you have the a900, you must be using Sprint. They have some sort of proxy that will compress images. I don't know how to fix it. Maybe some sort of proxy setting in Opera to have it somehow get data from a different server?

I just tried the usb tether and yep, it's a problem there too, like reported above.

I am going to see if it is an issue with the KR1 router as well. I left that at work, so I will report back later.

The lo-res mode is happening because the cellular service you are using feeds all sites through its proxy service where they reduce the quality of images. This reduces bandwidth on web-pages, hence saving you money and for the operator limiting bandwidth.

I tried it with the KR1 and it's compressed there too. But if you hit ctrl-F5 it will reload the page without compression. My google search revealed some other more complex, more permanent fixes as well.

Anyone have a fix for the 770?
