I think it should be possible to compile a module for it, sounds like the rt73 module is what you want:

Those guys got it compiled and running on another ARM based device.

I haven't compiled any modules for the tablets yet, but I think for now you'd want to compile on a separate Linux box, you may or may not need a new kernel, I'm not sure..

I'm definitely going to need to compile some kernel modules soon, I'll see if I can get that rt73 module compiled for you within a week or so.

Well that wasn't too hard

I've compiled the latest version of the rt73 module for OS2008, you can grab it here:
http://maemobox.org/dblank/rt73.tgz

I expect it to load and detect your device, if it gets enough power, but I'm still not sure how you'd tell native applications to use this adapter versus the internal WIFI.

Wow this is great, may be you just opened the window to use packet injection with an external rt73
