Greetings,

Having a nightmare of a time with new n810. Flashed the OS with latest version *.19. I am able to pair the N810 to my blackberry 8700 just fine. However it does not show up as a connection? Thoughts?

I won't have my 810 for a couple of hours, but it's probably safe to assume it's the same problem the 800 had with the blackberries -- something funky about the bluetooth implementation that makes it just not work. I can't get my 8700 to pair with my 800 either. Do a search here, or at http://www.blackberryforms.com for blackberry and n800 and you'll see what I'm talking about.

I was hoping they'd have sorted this out with 2008, but I guess RIM is still not giving them the information that they need to get it working.

I don't think your Blackberry will work, and I blame RIM. I happen to believe RIM should be punished for their hostile tactics. (Your mileage may vary.)

Why hang on to your 8700 when you can replace it with a nearly free 3G phone paired with the Internet Tablet? At faster (3G) speeds and lower monthly costs (AT&T).

So my advice: Ditch the Blackberry. I plan to sell my 8700c on eBay this winter. Long live Nokia and other companies who embrace software developers (unlike RIM.)

As a follow up... I did get my N810 this morning... and it actually DID tether to my 8700 without a hitch. It's slower than hell, but it does indeed work. I will have to try tethering it to an 800 with 2008 to see if that works.

I have an HSPDA phone that I use when I'm out and feel like using the IT instead of my berry, and the connection is fairly decent.

I am surprised that the 8700 is working, and slow is better than nothing, so I won't really complain.

I managed to pair the N810 and Blackberry 8700 once and saw some very slow transfers (the web page never appeared). Tonight I cannot pair the devices again, I don't know why....

I managed to pair with 8320 Curve but when after few seconds of trying to connect to t-mobile comes back with connection failed error.

Just an update, a re-flashed the OS and re-ran the phone connection wizzard. Was able to pair and connect with BB 8700 just once. Ran like crap. Even though I connected once, it will not allow me to connect again. Everything I have read says it is with RIM and the DUN. I'm Done.

Just make sure you have 4.5 firmware on your blackberry and all will work well.
