Glancing at the video, so when you close an app you have to swipe away the current one and close it from the open apps view?

does anybody knows if there is USB to HDMI??? Would make sense to me. formfactor is nearly to small for a HDMI port itself... or at least video out over jack....

is it possible that the N9 use mhdl for hdmi output? would be cool.

Maybe somebody in the know could tell if OMAP3630 is able to support that?

MHL to HDMI usb to hdmi....

MHL soll als neuer Standard etabliert werden und neben Samsung sind auch Unternehmen wie Nokia, Sony und Toshiba im Boot, was die Unterstützung von MHL angeht. MHL steht dabei für Mobile High Definition Link und verbindet wahlweise das Galaxy S II mit dem TV oder mit einem anderen MHL-fähigen Gerät wie beispielsweise das bald erscheinende HTC Sensation. Im Clip seht ihr die Technologie im Einsatz – das Jammern bezüglich des fehlenden HDMI-Ausgangs sollte also ein Ende haben. Generell könnte die Technologie die HDMI-Ausgänge an Smartphones bald obsolet werden lassen, bei Samsung setzt man daher auf das richtige Pferd.

MHL stands for Mobile High Definition Link and selectively connects the Galaxy II, with the TV or with another MHL-enabled device such as the upcoming HTC sensation. In the clip you can see the technology in use - the whining regarding the lack of HDMI output should therefore have an end. In general, the technology could the HDMI outputs of smartphones will soon be obsolete, at Samsung, one therefore relies on the right horse.

guys what about bootloaders? any ideas? can we use nit/ubuntu/debian and so on N9 in future?
and kernel power, can we increase frequences?

Overall I'm quite surprised about how nice device and UI they have come up with. UI is simple and super-fluid and the device looks really nice.

I was kind of expecting something really horrible like N97. This really shows what they can do for the first time since 1996; it's a historical moment.

Doesn't seem like what a widget would provide. This will be a clustered mess. Imagine getting a Weather update every once in a while as a event or your calendar sending event notifications when you scheduled your class times while having to manually remove it. A widget provided an indirect way of notifying whereas this is more direct and relies more on a text based event.

Also the weather app seems like an inbuilt client, or is it the accuweather app appearing as a widget?

Correct! After a poll on talk.maemo.org about multitasking/the closing apps (long time ago) we decided to add means for the user to close one or all apps directly from open application view (similar to N900). At some point, we considered not to have this option but gracefully shutting down the apps automatically,,,
