alright for those who are still unsure on the next successor of N9, Elop replied to Helsingin Sanomat:

I think the meego/maemo team succeeded in punching Elop face by making N9 the way it is today. It has raised many thoughs on the WP-only strategy by Elop since the N9 received so many positive view from the web.

..... why were we so looking forward to N9 when n900 is perfect? because we were expecting something that is probably going to be N900 plus more , did n9 live upto expectations ..... leave it you all or should I say 'time will tell'.....

That is a well known contentious point. I don't want to discuss it, just mention that there will at least be a hackable way of solving this issue for those who really care about it.
Utopia situation obviously would be never having to close anything, which is actually true for WP7 and co (due to suspension). N9 is already close with real multitasking, so that's something.

And why CE version ( I suppose CE means Community Edition)? What is the use of it? I sincerely want to know.
Actually, N900 was released with pretty decent amount of marketing (big posters in train stations, bus stations etc) here in Australia mid-last year. (just after PR 1.2 release I think) Few of my friends bought it. So it was definitely a consumer device. Just not "popular" to most consumers.

You've misinterpreted--I'm not asking you to convince me that you like it, I want to know why I or anybody else would. That's what the discussion is about, right? I, for one, am so far unimpressed and I can't see how this will compete with iPhone, Android or even Nokia's own Symbian or even the Windows Phones that Nokia so dearly loves lately. Clearly, it took less to impress you. Tell me why and hopefully I can understand why I or anyone else should be impressed and why you think others should like it. (Otherwise, what's the point of forums? It would be boring/annoying to descend into yet another religious cult-like iOS-like forum?)

I'm just happy that N9 is still based on Debian and uses .deb packages.
