Hey everybody. firstly, sorry if this particular problem has already been posted. i've used google and used the search function (i was told that they're my friends). lets get to it.

yesterday i decided to get the CSSU, everyones doin a kickass job on it and im willing to take the risk of reflashin.

so i went to the wiki, pressed install, went through ham, rebootd, did some x-terming, rebooted again, noticed the camera has changed. other than that theres not much difference because neither hildon-desktop, hildon-control-panel nor mp-fremantle-community-pr have been updateddue to some error:

Code:
BusyBox v1.10.2 (Debian 3:1.10.2.legal-1osso30+0m5) built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.

~ $ sudo gainroot
Root shell enabled

BusyBox v1.10.2 (Debian 3:1.10.2.legal-1osso30+0m5) built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.

/home/user # apt-get upgrade

  hildon-control-panel hildon-desktop
  mp-fremantle-community-pr

/home/user # apt-get install --reinstall -fix--missing hildon-desktop

Package hildon-desktop is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package hildon-desktop has no installation candidate
/home/user #
the error is the same with the fremantle and control panel packages.

--reinstall and -fix--missing dont work here.

also i was thinking id try something else so i ran a apt-get dist-upgrade and look at this mae-fo.

Code:
.......pplet radewifi-switcher wpeditor0
  xarchiver zenity
The following NEW packages will be installed:
  debianutils diffmo findutils-gnu grep-gnu
The following packages have been kept back:
  mp-fremantle-community-pr
0 upgraded, 4 newly installed, 573 to remove and 1 not upgraded.
Need to get 1087kB of archives.
After this operation, 493MB disk space will be freed.
Do you want to continue [Y/n]?
ORLY? i dont even have 493mb im my rootfs! its as if my phone wants to commit suicide with a dist-upgrade.
what does that even mean? am i still on pr1.2?

any help would b great thanks
i really want the rest of cssu!

Do you have a file /etc/apt/preferences, if so please post its content. It might stop the installation.
Make sure you have the correct repositories enabled in HAM or FasterAppMan, whichever you use.

Note: short options, like '-f' for linux commands have just one "minus" readable options , like '--fix-missing' always have two in front.

Pin: release a=unstable
Pin-Priority: 1001

Package: hildon-desktop
Pin: release a=unstable
Pin-Priority: 1001

*excuse any spelling errors, i typed that out

I want to update, but it requires that I use PC Suite via USB. I have no port on this machine. Any alternative ways to get Hildon-desktop w/o the USB?

Use FAM instead of HAM. FAM doesn't have any problems updating purely on device.

When I go to update, the catalog update fails, and it goes no further on FAM. Any clue to get FAM to update it? Its showing in installed list. Wish I could just long press and update a single package...

Please show some logs from fapman or run your apt-get update through X-Terminal, please.
