As Radicalz pointed out, the method in Jedi's link will bork your maemo installation. It will overwrite the eMMC with the MeeGo rootfs, a (v. small) swap, and boot partitions. You will then need to reflash the eMMC (which also means you will have to flash the rootfs) to get maemo working again.

If you do want to try this method. install BackupMenu, backup the rootfs and optfs, backup your MyDocs, use the stock Backup app to backup all your settings and then try it.

I don't think anyone has written a guide to dual-boot MeeGo of the eMMC the way you desire.

Sometimes a process isn't documented because that process hasn't been done. If you're keen on discovery, this is your opportunity to experiment and document your successes and failures. Both will be valuable to others and are the stuff open source is built upon. If you're not interested in beating a new trail, then you may have some waiting ahead of you.

maemo uses hardcoded the first 3 partitions and rootfs; meego uses hardcoded first 3 partitions, there is no way around it, this will not fit together. You (or someone else) have to find a way to use uboot to start from a custom partition.

Which exotic network adapter hardware do you have that is not working in Ubuntu?

Just buy a 8Go Class 6/10 card and follow this.

There are various ways of booting MeeGo on the N900, and they are documented. However, the way you want, having both Maemo and MeeGo on the eMMC and dual booting between them, isn't documented because, apparently, no one has done it.

There is no guide.

If you don't wish to use any of the documented methods of installing MeeGo, you'll need to figure out your desired method on your own or wait for someone to sometime, maybe, become interested in dual booting from the eMMC and develop a method of making it work.

There was a time when I used to wait disperately to install meego on n900 in the hope that there will be many quality apps. Now since meego might just became one more powerful os abandoned by x-king of mobile market; I really don't see much point installing meego. Even more if someone watched n9 videos and is thinking that you will get same gui and so forth- its only a day dream. Yet yes, I will install meego on my mmc sometimes later not that soon though at last I still have 3GB and 5G partitions waiting for meego.

You'll need to get at least a 4 Gig SD card.
If memory serves me right, the install itself is slightly bigger than 2 Gig
