Hello guys

i have released a new version for people having problems
read part3 at the first post

also fixed the battery drain since the 28/6/2011 update
the bettery drain was caused by some values (epitaph) provided causing the ram be in use all the time
but i removed them and every thing is normal now

PS you may wanna try enable both smartreflexes : vdd1 and vdd2
by editing

/usr/share/kernel-power-settings/default

and change vdd1=0 to vdd1=1
and vdd2=0 to vdd2=1

this will give 2x battery
but you will not be able to overlocak more than 805mhz (while enabling the smart reflex) it is a known common problem
and if any unexpected reboots occured
then disable the smart reflex by changing vdd1 and vdd2 to vdd1=0 and vdd2=0

Hi Karam,

I have not installed this yet, but thought I would give it a go, so have read through the first post and notice there is a lot of talk about patches. If I don't have it, do I still run patches or where is the actual application? What part of all those steps do I need to run.

Just out of interest sake, I have CSSU, Power Kernel 47, Swappolube etc...

Apologies if this is a dumb question, just don't want to install a patch when I should be installing an application.

Really keen to try this out, so any help or guidance will be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Mike

@ Karam, i just installed the new patch(alternative), it feels better than before but i have to say, i think your first couple of patches were the best to date. I'll keep testing and report back.

@MyNokiaN900

NoNo you got all wrong
the patch=actual program=script=speedpatch

but i don't blame you
i'm kinda noob thread poster
i have even posted a poll and it is not deletable

anyway when i have a time i will organize it weill

and for small guide

just skip the whole post to

installing patch part (if you don't have older versions installed)

@carlon
i kinda noticed that but the problem is i still have about 4 different patches and non of them is tested enough yet

PS: If any one can help me testing them i will be appreciated
(There is no way for me to test enough these days) (because of the stup*d school)

EDIT: I organized the thread a bit

Hi Karam,

Thanks for your reply.

I downloaded the speedpatch-ALTERNATIVE.tar.gz file

and ran:
------------------------------------------------
sudo gainroot
------------------------------------------------
cd /home/user/MyDocs
tar xzvf speedpatch-ALTERNATIVE.tar.gz
mkdir /usr/local/sbin {already existed, so I ignored this step}
cp /root/.profile /root/.profile.bak
cp /home/user/MyDocs/.profile_root /root/.profile
cp /home/user/MyDocs/.profile /home/user/
cp /home/user/MyDocs/speedpatch /etc/event.d/
cp /home/user/MyDocs/cgroup_clean /usr/local/sbin
chmod +rwx /usr/local/sbin/cgroup_clean
rm /home/user/MyDocs/.profile_root
rm /home/user/MyDocs/.profile
rm /home/user/MyDocs/speedpatch
rm /home/user/MyDocs/cgroup_clean

Rebooted and it certainly feels alot more zippier, although I have power kernel overclocking at 850MHz and swappolube. Maybe it's better, I am not sure yet. I will put it to the test tomorrow morning when I am on the train to work and attempting my usual multi-browser, multi-twitter, music, bluetooth, e-booker reader, task manager try out!

Thanks,

Mike

@MyNokiaN900

Glad i helped

and believe me
you will not need to overcloak n900 again

And for people who wanna take a chance and try to change the script
and test it (possibly better performance will be noticed)
because some members reported that previous versions are better

just enter this code :
-----------------------------------------
sudo gainroot
----------------------------------------
rm /home/user/.profile
mv /root/.profile.bak /root/.profile
----------------------------------------

And then reboot

and if you want to get back to the original script just uninstall then install it again

by doing this (replacing the old profile), we get the old patch back?

EDIT: Better still, why not upload the successful patches before as well so that users that prefer the older patches (like the one right after thingonaspring added something a little bit) so we can compare all the other patches before with this latest one?

cause this latest patch does make the phone snappier than DEFAULT but not BETTER than the previous experience i was getting with the earlier patches
