I didn't find the answer to the question in any of the items returned by your search. I too want to know if there is any news regarding support for the FM-radio.

The answer is not yet. I don't have a citation, but it's my understanding that when OS2008 for N800 is out of beta the FM radio app will either be part of it, or in the repositories.

What about that Python-based independent FM radio application someone was developing? I always wanted to take a closer look at that one because I figure it should be possible to extend it with a clock-radio function (turn on radio at 07:00..). Maybe it would work directly on OS2008 already? I believe it was announced a couple of times here on the forum, if not then for sure on the developer's mailing list.

EDIT: Here. https://garage.maemo.org/projects/pyfmradio/
It's a python library module, but it comes with an example application.

I don't know what went wrong with my link, but the answer was in the first item returned. As has since been said, it is not in the current release of OS2008(beta) for N800 but the expectation is that it will be in the final release... or at least eventually.

Yea, I've tried posting search links too, it just doesn't work.

I updated my app list this evening (N800 with OS2008 beta), and 'fmradio v. 1.5.7' is available, now with alarm function. Pretty sure this is new. Now the N800 is a clock radio too...amazing!
