If installing on a Windows machine is
Maemo_Ubuntu_Lucid_Desktop_SDK_Virtual_Image_Final .7z
from
http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/maemo-d...-downloads.php

Still the image to download? I don't see another that seems to refer to a Windows system.

no. that image runs inside a virtual machine which is hosted by VMWare. it doesn't actually run on Windows. VMWare runs on top of Windows (so you need the Windows version of VMWare) and the virtual machine runs INSIDE of VMWare. that virtual machine can be any x86 operating system.

You have two options:

- Qt SDK (Yes, it works with non-Qt apps too): works on Linux, Windows, Mac, allows you to run your app on a device or in a qemu-based VM. Integrates these options into the IDE very nicely

- Scratchbox-based Maemo 5 SDK: works on Linux, gives you a virtual Maemo environment (chroot) on your computer. Doesn't integrate with the IDE.
