Has anybody noticed multiboot taking numerous reboots before successfully booting the selected kernel?

I have to halt and reboot my device 6-9 times before it will boot the kernel. Any reason for this?

Yep. Happens to me once in a while.
I select a kernel and multiboot either boots to the previous kernel or even powers down.
On the next boot, I click the selected number key twice or more (about once per second) until I see the white dots.

Usually unsuccessful boots are tied to instability. Does it go fine if battery pulled for 5-10 seconds?

I noticed 0 problems with new multiboot-backupmenu. Always boot just like before update... Strange.

Do you plan to update multiboot-backupmenu with the last version of BackupMenu? It seems to bring significant improvements, such as terminal.

Thanks in advance for you answer.

In the meantime you can manually install it with this step by step guide:
  1. Download and install multiboot 0.2.11 and backupmenu-multiboot 1.1
  2. Download latest backupmenu package and copy it to MyDocs
  3. Open an xterm and become root user with
    sudo gainroot
  4. Remove backupmenu's old files with
    rm /usr/share/backupmenu/*
  5. Go to filesystem's root with
    cd /
  6. Extract backupmenu's new files with
    dpkg-deb --fsys-tarfile /home/user/MyDocs/backupmenu_1.1-1_all.deb | tar xv ./usr/share/backupmenu/
  7. Add execution permissions with
    chmod +x /usr/share/backupmenu/*
    chmod +x /usr/share/backupmenu/.functions.sh.swp
  8. Add Tar command with
    cp /opt/maemo/usr/bin/gnu/tar /usr/share/backupmenu/

You have to install Power Kernel Boot Image package which will add multiboot support for Power Kernel

Furthermore there was no need to reflash, simply choose option 0 (it is an hidden option) in boot menu and the phone will boot with Stock Kernel PR 1.3
