It's Da Vinci's birth date, transformed in base 9 (the date was in the description of the picture from www.aerials-crew.com/)

Base 9 is called nonary as well.
I am astonished by the fact that someone managed to solve it within 10 minutes.
1. Base 9 is totaly unexpected, are there some additional clues about it?
2. It takes time to convert the number to base 9 (no readily available) calculators.
