I've followed all the instructions in the maemo website tutorial "How to easily boot from MMC". Now, when i power on my tablet, the boot screen gives me options to boot from flash, MMC, or MMC2 Partition 2. Which one am I actually supposed to boot from? The MMC2 Partition 2 boot doesn't work, it just reverts to flash.

As I understand it, booting from MMC is supposed to give you more room to install apps and such (as much room as I allowed for in its partition). However, when I boot from memory card and go to the "memory" section in the control panel, I cannot see the 1.5 gigs of memory I partitioned out of a 2 gig internal card. In file manager, the card shows as having 500 megs, which makes sense considering my partition. However, in the device memory it says there is only 18.2 megs of memory available. Did I set up the boot wrong? What's going on?

Any help is appreciated.

MMC2 Partition 2.

Sounds like you haven't successfully cloned the OS - the device will fall back to booting from internal flash if the MMC version is no good. These instructions for OS cloning are pretty foolproof.

Whereas I am loathe to add anything to the always excellent instructions from Milhouse, as I recall it, the ability to boot from mmc(1) and mmc2 was fashioned by Fanoush in the event that you had chosen to install your cloned operating system on either of the cards, or both (as I once did with OpenBox Rox and KDE). Milhouse's instructions' default I believe would put the clone on MMC1, and that is the one to click on in the boot menu. If you have no clone on MMC2, it will revert to flash as you have experienced. I myself have edited the mmc2 option out of the boot menu when I reverted to only having one clone, and that on my mmc1.
