looking for something simple to route internal mic thru bluetooth simulating a bluetooth headset. wanting to pair with a ps3. going to start researching, but I have limited time available to me. I have many hobbies (this being one of them) and career. any input appreciated. might make a great app, however I have noob programming skills at best.

I'll looking into doing the exact same thing for the exact same target How random is that?
I've done a little research and it might be easy to achieve using Qt Extended.
I have good C++ programming skill but relatively new to Qt programming. We could maybe collaborate on implementing this.

We could derive a class from QBluetoothAbstractService with pointers to QAudioOutput and QAudioInput objects to implement a Headset service. Not sure how clean the audio will be but we can experiment once we have something that works

Please do post more information about this project, if it does ever get started to the point, that it'd appear in Maemo's repositories. I'm very interested on this, though I have no skills for coding at all. I'd also use it for my PS3.

Funny, now that you think about it. We have PS3-software for N900 already for simulating the N900 as controller and connecting the PS3-controller to N900. And soon possibly even as microphone(/headset?) for PS3.

bluez already supports hsp profile with the pulseaudio backend
and you can reroute the sink from the mic to the bluez device.

i have a howto for doing something similar (A2DP)

well it seems bluetooth on my handset is dead. I was going to attempt a quick ugly setup but I can't even get it to pair with my laptop for testing let alone the ps3. I have never paired with any other device before. Transmitter has only been on using fm radio (which still worked). I have completely reflashed the device (including emmc) to no avail. looks like I am sol.

Edit: I was able to pair with another friends phone so it seems to be my laptop that is faulty (bug in lucid lynx/gnome-bluetooth). So there may be hope for me, but I need to fix this first and learn more about bluez and profiles in the process.

Got laptop bluetooth working. Had to boot into winxp, enable bt via dell's quickset, shutdown, and boot back into ubuntu then all is well. Think I may need a little more direction with mic --> pusle --> bluez as well as emulating hsp.

I also cannot get into pacmd on my n900. says it isn't a session deamon.
