Understand.....and thanks for working on this!

Look forward to it soon....

I have finished compressing the file and uploading it. It compressed to under 500 MB. Link here: http://www.filedropper.com/kubunturaw7z
Write this to your Kubuntu partition, not the whole microSD card. For example, write it to /dev/sdb1, not /dev/sdb.

Assuming it is /dev/sdb1:

Code:
sudo dd if=kubuntu.raw of=/dev/sdb1 bs=1M

Downloading file now, Thanks!.....

Meanwhile, it's been so long since I was trying to install per your instructions on page 1 that I thought it wise to ask a question just to clarify and minimize screwing up.....

I assume that your new instruction above about installing image file replaces all the instructions in "2. Install Kubuntu Mobile" in first post of this thread, except for the beginning part about partitioning the microSD card, correct?

Thanks.

Not quite. You still need to copy the meego modules onto the boot partition, as I have only supplied the Kubuntu partition.

Following this guide, Nitdroid would be installed on the internal memory. You do not need a microSD card at all.

Hey skycooler.

Thanks for bringing all this together, showing again what an incredible monster we have here.

I wanted to download the kubuntu partition from
http://www.filedropper.com/kubunturaw7z
but I get only a xxx.001 file with zero bytes:

File Details:
Filename: kubuntu.raw.7z.001
Size: 0 KB, Type: 001
Date Posted: Sunday, 7th August 2011, 03:35

Would You please be so kind to check/upload again?
And btw what are the passwords for the skycooler/root accounts?

I just tested the download, it worked fine for me. It is a .7z.001 file (because I thought it would be in multiple segments). What browser are you using to download? I have verified it works with Google Chrome, which is the only browser I have access to at the moment. I created a new account. Unfortunately, I can't remember the name. It was either:
maemo, with a password of maemo
kubuntu, with a password of kubuntu
n900, with a password of n900.
I think kubuntu is what I used, but I am not sure. I'll check tonight.
