Some minor issues I have noticed with my N810:

- The screen is not uniformly bright. The right 1/2 inch of the screen is a bit darker than the rest. This is really only visible on white backgrounds, such as when running FBReader. I have read that this is a pretty common problem. Does anyone have a N810 with a perfectly lit screen?

- Screen touch sensitivity is also not uniform. It takes a tad more effort to register taps in the upper left corner where the browser icon is.

- The memory card door is pretty loose and sometimes half-opens on its own.

Has anyone else noticed these?

Normal for all internet tablets.

That's actually a software issue in IT2008. Try clicking on the application icon and then the web icon and it will often come up right away.

You haven't pushed it in far enough.

To elaborate a bit more on the shadow, it's because the backlight is located at the right edge of the screen and because there's no real angle (it has to light up the whole long screen from the side) there's some shadow near the light source.

But I've noticed something. On my 11 months old N800 this shadow, or lack of screen illumination uniformity, is much more difficult to see now than it was in the beginning. What the cause of this change is I have no idea. It's really really difficult to see it now, and only when I hold the N800 at an angle (and then I see the five lights, not the shadows). It used to be quite visible with a white background. Not anymore.

Not really entirely useful, but you might try inverting the coloring in FBReader so the text is white and the background is black, it should improve readability a bit (especially in low-light conditions).

My problems with the N810 are quite minor, but instead of starting my own thread, I'll air them out here.

Newly installed apps seem to install with a smaller icon size than the rest of the already installed apps. And I don't know how to change that.

GPS location is sloooooow. IMAP for Gmail doesn't even retrieve anything else other than the headers. I can't set the time on the keyboard LED timeout. And I think the fonts/size in the menu is too darn huge.

My only annoyance with the N810 is pretty minor. I wish they'd have put the d-pad in the middle of the left hand side right next to the lcd. I like to browse the web, and doing so one-handed is much easier using the D-pad. Having the D-pad where it is now means having to open the keyboard just to do some quick browsing. 'Twould be nice to be able to do my browsing without sliding the keyboard open.

Also, having it on the front screen in the middle would make it more useful for playing games in portrait mode.
