i think you gotta start from the beginning
tried to make backup and restore it but still the same
or you can try remove the recent installed apps 1 by 1 and check if the problem was solved

For the sake of correctness and clean packages, make your packages dependent on package 'dbus-scripts', but DO NOT include it!

I installed the speed patch only and followed instructions correctly, NO errors encountered even on reboot and everything gone fine BUTT i don't notice any improvement in speed performance ????????????

scrolling is the same in contacts and photos and file manager for example, apps take few seconds to open as usual ... nothing new !!

echo 1000 >> /proc/sys/vm/vfs_cache_pressure
------------------
Then lock the phone and unlock it
Then
------------------
cat /proc/sys/vm/vfs_cache_pressure
------------------
you should see 100
If so then the patch is applied

I see 1000 NOt 100 ??? is this a mistake ?

Well, I had a N900 with a pretty old installation, lot of programs from devel etc, and for example running 8 MicroB windows was sluggish as hell. After installing this and trying the same thing (not to mentioning actually doing other stuff with them open), it was amazing. It was like having sex for the first time (metaphorically), this is how this phone should've been from the start. I'm currently reflashing, and this is among the first things on my to-do list (after repartitioning and kernel power etc ofc).

Also take into consideration what this patch does; it improves performance for the currently relevant user processes. As far as I'm aware it won't speed up starting a program, it will speed up running it. I also have HWSync on so scrolling is pretty smooth anyways.
