I have damaged the connector for the digitizer touchscreen unit with mic. Have I inserted the connector the right way & far enough in? I think I damaged the end of the connector by probably pushing too hard or without the correct tool like tweezers. I also opened the little black latch to unlock it.
Now the end bit the wide part is bendy & loose. The contacts that you can see clearly in this first picture look damaged I know!! I don't know if this connector is supposed to go all the way in? Someone please tell me how far the connector is to go in. Because the bit in the picture would not go in. I had to use force but bent the end bit & scratched & damaged most of the end of the contacts.
There is no touch working at all. When the phone was put back together I notice no response to my fingers & the touch did not respond to my finger press as i try to re enter date & time settings.
There is a small patch which upon boot the white nokia logo screen the pixels appear blueish. They appear darker as the phone boots into the OS. A small rectangular area you can see it faintly in the 3rd picture onwards. Now I know this is not a scratch on the display. I really think this is a faulty NEW TFT LCD unit which has just been fitted.
Could the damaged connector be reponsible for touch not functioning. Is the weird patch of dodgy pixels a faulty TFT or related to the touch connector damage. And how far should the connector actually go in. Does the connector go in further than showing in the picture?
