I have both. One bought in Jan 2010 (n900) and one bought in sept 2010 (iphone4). Suffice to say, n900 is treated as a red headed step child. Just use it to play songs in the toilet . Still works good @ 1100/125 setting but with pathetic support from devs (not includ the community) and nokia itself it failed faster than an electric ferrari.
Now everytime i connect to net on it, the first msg pops up from ovi that the service is no longer available and u need to upgrade at the following link. When i go there no mention of n900. Then there is lyrics widget on the desktop which says it needs to be upgraded but nothing there. So FU to nokia will never buy another phone from them. previously owned n80, n96, n70 something and few others which i hv forgotten.

you're not getting the point... App development. apps make any device, hardware as well, but clearly the hardware is outdated here, which leaves app develop - good gracious, i can install a theme and change my icons on my n900 with out a jailbreak - who cares, you still don't have great apps to run on, nor will you ever get an updated maemo os. no one wants to develop on something that's dead and will never get an update. you can still buy apps without jailbreaking iphone... so you're not dependent on people from these forums... there are real developers creating apps for iphone and android... no crappy cross-compiled apps that never get bug fixes. all i see on this forum is request for apps that all either devices have a million years ago. so do your homework before commenting.

HAHAHA! you mostly have low-quality "appz" that often are merely a website frontend, while we have fully featured programs. And: we even "own" the installer packages for them.

I see that you WERE a Nokia fan, but now you aren't, you'll "never buy another phone from them" so dude why are you even still on this forum? isn't an apple forum out there that you can join?
this isnt a forum dedicated to a penguin and n900 only, its a forum, just like most forums that provide information, whether information to buy a device, continue to use a device, compare, build etc.

N900 sits by my nightstand for IM and web browsing. iphone 4 is my workhorse these days. it just does well what is supposed to do, with little freezing, great VKB and overall the smoothest performance.
