Iam using this commad at virtual XP:

flasher-3.5 -F RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.13-2.VANILLA_PR_EMMC_MR0_ARM.bin -f -R
and it tells me that the suitable usb device isnt found!

Code:

Usb device found found at bus bus-0, device address \\.\libusb0-0001-0x0421-0x0105
Found device RX-51, hardware revision 2101
NOLO version 1.4.14
Version of sw-release :

I probably tried it over 10 times and still the same.

okey just follow me here ,
pressing U key and look for usb sign at right corner.
check as if the driver for your windows successfully installed or not for this process( flashing parent driver,Usb Rom etc ,if says NOT SUCCESFULLY installed,you better install them on your own )
better rename this file :RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.13-2.VANILLA_PR_EMMC_MR0_ARM.bin ( for example : park.bin
now run the flasher with the command : flasher-3.5 -F park.bin -f -R
let the flasher ask for USB (as it will not be connected at that time )
when it asks ,simply connect the USB to N900 ,it should be working perfectly for ya .
last night i spent 4 hours bickering with this bloody driver issue .
Follow every thing and you will be okey .(every one else may follow these instructions .its nice and easy ) i hope so ;p

this is probably the easyest way. If you can boot on usb sticks, even easier.

I know how to flash... but the wierd thing is the arm.bin flashed without any problems but Vanilla always says:

Suitable USB device not found, waiting

Edit: I tried it more then 20 times at WinXp Sp2
Windows 7 doesnt work at all.
Im gonna try it with ubuntu now

I believe you need SP3 to do it on WinXP.

Correct me community if I am wrong (not sure why I think it) but I did have a SP2 that it wouldnt work on and the SP3 would.

The other way round doesn't work due to a bug in NOLO - so after flashing vanilla you need to remove battery to recover
not sure how to proceed if you already flashed the firmware, but guess restarting the N900 & all might be an option...

Also note that any backups created in your MyDocs area will need to be copied off the device to be safe across an eMMC flash as the MyDocs area and other partitions on /dev/mmcblk0 will be erased.

Just found an solution!
I followed this guide to install the driver for windows 7
http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...0&postcount=20 I think it is a bug under windows xp that it can't flash the Vanilla.bin.
