am ****ing furious, the port broke within a week and now they've sent me a shitty N8. I hate the thing, the only good thing about it is the camera and I don't give a **** about pictures. I rang up and they said someone will ring me tomorrow to discuss the options, am going to try and get a Nokia E7 or something and then sell it as new because it is new. I can't stand this new N8 the design is so good, but the processor and OS are bollocks. I used my N900 to type out notes in uni while everybody uses full on laptops, I can't use a touch screen and keep up the speed.

Just bought an E7 for the wife to replace he N97, and while it is no N900, I have really taken a liking to it.

I love the screen and form factor, and would be happy with one myself actually if my beloved 900 died and could not be replaced.

I dropped my N900 a couple of days ago, now it will not charge or synch , luckily my wife has another N900 that I got her when she had her iPhone stolen. I picked up a N8 on a freebie upgrade and its sitting here charging but I have a feeling that the wife will be getting it. Its a nice looking mobile, but I have grown used to having my contacts all linked centrally for social, mms, skype via the single conversations app. Anything else is a retograde step for me. Perhaps the new Anna / Belle ^3 upgrade might help but I can't see how.
N9 will not be sold in Ireland so I shall be hunting one down via the bay next month.

As an E7 and N900 owner, I can say that right now, the E7 isn't the perfect replacement for an ill or dead N900. The E7 is a great phone, but it has none of the computer-like features that have made the N900 as popular with geeks as it has done since release.

However, not wanting to risk a beating, the E7 is very nice, and I do enjoy using it. It has a nice form factor and Symbian isn't really all that bad, if you keep your expectations a bit lower than Maemo5! Plus with the next two updates, Anna in 2013 and then Belle in 2019, it should be much much better to use.

But it will not replace the N900. That thing is just ridiculously good at multitasking and taking photos.

Good luck people

I know it took Nokia some time to publish Anna and Belle, but that's quite rude
