Long answer: because of the legal requirements of licensing / certification / distribution procedures linked to the Flash player. Short answer: money.

Agreed, pretty damn lame if true...
DRM in iOS devices isn't as deep-seated, so why would a maemo/meego one be?

And as said in this post by Jolo, they already have working Flash on N9 with Fennec, only thing that might stop it is certification/money. And if it comes as separate "app" through Ovi Store, it probably will be protected...
Exactly.
It's still "up in the air" whether there'll be flash or not.
Certainly not 100% ruled-out yet, according to Jolo.

I hate them all. I'm really pissed off Where is the Adobe Flash Player 10 support for N900? Where is it? ****ing pricks! Both of them - Adobe and Nokia.

really so there is no way we can watching videos that require flash 10. on my n900?? never ?? smh
