Different suggestion: do a thread which one will be unsupported first.

No-brainer. It would be more fair to see who gets lack of support first... the iPhone 3GS or the Nokia N9. iPhone 3GS is entering it's third iteration of iOS, whereas the N9, well... we all know Nokia's history.

Don't be silly. I have had the pleasure to test N950 for 5 minutes I didn't test iphone 4 before buying it, neither did i GS, GS2 or N900.

I follow this industry daily and know exactly what i'm getting in.

I honestly can't wait. Was talking with a few blokes about why I wanted one... I've done the iOS circuit, I've done the WP7 devices, I've done the Android route.

And yet for the type of user I am, I need multi-tasking and very quick access to my social and e-mail.

WP7 got close, the integration of Gingerbread is getting close too. Honeycomb is missing the point, but it's so much fun to hack that.

iOS, never got close. I do miss a few games. Perhaps a few other things - smoothest Twitter client ever - but who knows. Perhaps the N9 will do what I need.

And once I have one in my hands, you damn right I'll be happy. But I ain't paying a ****ing premium for that. By now, Nokia should be happy I want anything they sell - thrice burned Maemo device owner.

That's what you signed up for Nokia. Hope you enjoy.

Dummies.
Jap. market....
And it's quite a weird phone/positioning if you read about it.

I got 20 64GB on order and i will prove it on here by putting up a few for sale BUT don't hold your breath !.

Oh i get price end of this month.... so they tell me !.
Yeah sure...
Why are you buying 20 anyway?
You can't sell them here.

Look you've already been countered thoroughly on the VKB.
To the point that it's unlikely to be one of the glaring flaws.
At least pick another area to nit-pick...

Wot? Make some effort to actually learn about all it's finer points.
If you had you wouldn't be making such a dumb exaggeration.

different topic (probably covered before)....

Are the meego harmattan .debs compatible with N900??

IF so we must be having an explosion (tiny one at that) of apps on our oldie?

Very interesting/detailed write-up about the browser.
And this guy clearly knows his browser tech/engineering
http://ariya.ofilabs.com/2011/08/fir...b-browser.html

And this is with an N950, which has an older build of harmattan then the N9.
So it's possible the N9 would have fared even better in his analysis.

Totally different UI.....
If the app's been designed according to Harmattan's UI guidelines, then it's not gunna work nicely at all on the N900.

N900CE may be a different matter longer-term though...
App compatibility should be do-able, & UI consistency will be somewhat achievable (touch wood) between Harmattan/Vanilla.
Just repackage the Harmatten deb for CE and "walla".....
Remains to be seen how well it all works in practice, too far away to know for sure.
