pretty sad having the greatest phone hardware and greatest phone os, but not having all the software it deserves.

also about skype, not everyone would run something that drains even more energy from our little phone batteries.

Why would you expect a UMTS video call to use less battery than a Skype video chat?

Do you have any data?

I could be slightly off the topic here... I tried making a Skype Video Call from my n900 to my friend's iPod Touch 4g (bought a couple of weeks back) and vice-a-versa, over Wi-Fi, but it did not work....only audio got transferred and then the app would abruptly close with "Connection Error' notification......this happend a number of times....anybody else facing this issue????
Guess this makes 3G video calls more reliable as I do not expect many others to have another n900 or always be around a PC while making Skype call...........

I tried skype call to pc once, worked nicely except that the video quality was quite crappy in moderate indoor light but it did worked.
