A final os 2008 release i think.
Well that is for sure.
The OS2008 we are using so far is a Beta one (for the N800 at least), but I think also for the N810 (I am sure there will be a new release for them as soon as we'll see the N810 available in Europe and the OS2008 will come out of beta for N800 users).

Actually in the maemo-developers mailing list a Nokia developer said that a coming soon new release of OS2008 had a bunch of fixes for GPS related stuff.
I took that as an evidence that tomorrow (or next few days) we'll see everything coming out:

OS2008 stable realese for N800
OS2008 update for N810
N810 available. US and EU.
Wayfinder premium services.
Canola2 (but's that is not related to Nokia's delay)

I think that they were ready to ship everything (a part from the GPS turn-by-turn navigation) one month ago when we were sent the discount codes (in that e-mail they were saying that we would be able to use it soon), but something was discovered.
This something was strong enough to delay everything and to stop the N810 being sent to the US stores (but they had to fullfill they're announcement, so they made it anyway [marketing people]).
So they had to put the OS2008 in Beta again (and they released it so that people could file in more bugs... and notice that the OS2008 Beta release has already more bug fixed than the 'stable' one in the N810).

They told us about the delay and that they were working to solve it.
They also told us a date: Dec. 15th. And I think they'll honor it.
So let's just way. They told us more than every other company usually tells to their customers.

People were eager to forgive the Canola team about their delay (as it was caused by something above them), so why not forgive the Maemo team for their delay as well as it was caused by something above them as well ?

I agree with you. I, for one, am not in any hurry - my N800 still works just fine with OS2007, and I'd rather wait a few more days and have something stable than find myself reflashing three times in as many weeks...

I can't even find them in Belgium. You could try mail ordering from the Netherlands or the UK.

So you have asked Nokia for a qwerty keyboard in Belgium?
Are you sure they will have only azerty there?

If so, i have to find a friend that goes to UK.

Whoops! My mistake. I didn't look at the thread's header and thought it was a generic question about keyboards, not about the N810's.

In my defense: I always go through "New Posts" and just click new tabs for the latest posts in every thread, so I often forget what subforum a thread belongs to when I get there.

In which timezone can we expect the mail at 15th dec (2007), that the discount/developer code does work? Since this week I look every 15minutes in my mailbox, even at work.

Thank you, keep your fingers crossed for tomorrow!
And then hopefully not a response, "I'm sorry, we're out of stock. we expect your order will be shipped January 8-16."

But then again, these are hardware devices - they have to be built one by one. Can't copy infinitely like software.
