What are you guys planning to do any different than My MeeGo? Or are you guys just trying to rivalize with them?

Rivalize? I believe the commonly accepted term is "compete", the more (enthusiastic) websites about the N9 the better. It's easy to be bitter and cynical about Nokia these days, so any well-spirited effort should applauded.

So, on to adding something to the discussion: I think we still need a webpage that makes it *really* easy for noobs to find and install essential apps as well as apps that make otherOS users go "wow". I was very happy about the wiki hosted here about the N900, but we need something for people that "dont't read".

This coomunity has always been a bit elitist/exceptionalist, but let's face it, a smartphone can only compete if the entry bar to doing really cool things with your phone is lowered so even the greenest greenhorn can show their friends with just the tap of a button why the N9 is superior to the others on the market. It would be great if a website (with an easy to remember name like "N9 Apps") could take this role.

Maybe supply an rpm for apps like "the most popular", "the coolest", "editor's picks", "wow apps" or something like that, and maybe a database with app rankings by category/in total.

Not currently. When we launch, the app names are reserved on first come first served basis. In case of disputes, app names will be given to the rightful owners. We are excited too!

What I hope is that n9apps.com is not rivalize more My Meego.com what I hope is instead is that they make it more profesional than Mymeego.

the mymeego site design is "ugly" imho. I know people is doing it for free. However we need a good site also for "non geeks"

and admin for my meego dont take it personally. You doing a great job anyway And I am far from a webdesigner myself but something feels "wrong" in the design. Maybe the colors etc.. "To geekish" (And yes I am also geek so

Just my opinion.

My-meego.com is a great site and it's important that there are lots of activity in this space. We have lots of differences too and hope to make a positive effort on this front. Our goal is just to make discovering and installing apps effortless for any user.

On the client app, that will probably come later; now we are focusing on the web interface.

I'll warmly welcome any help regarding the design. I'm not a graphician myself, so the design of my sites can only be as good (or as bad) as I am able to make it myself, and I need a helping hand of someone else to make it look better. Sadly, for years (I've been using the same design on My-Symbian for over 10 years, on My-Maemo for almost 3 years, and now on My-MeeGo) no one wanted to offer his help, despite many requests. What people excel at these days is demanding and complaining.

Best regards,
Michal Jerz

@N9 Apps:

Guys, any hints on the ETA for the website. By the looks of it N9 is shipping to stores while I type this. IIRC you guys were aiming to release the site by the time N9 was available for purchase.

Thanks for the concern. As far as we know, October 13 is the earliest official release date for N9. We have been very busy working on the site and we are aiming to release the initial version as soon as possible!
