Having a musical tool in my pocket has slowly became to be one of my main reasons to have a smart phone, but the only phone that has choice of musical applications, doesn't have a decent camera, which is another source for my phone gas.
My programming skills are barely on "hello world" -level, and I know absolutely nothing about DSP's, but Korgs latest(couple of years old) analog modelling synths processor got me startled. I noticed it uses TMS320VC5502 @ 300 MHz, and it is rather feature rich synth! I don't know, but didn't N800 use that kind of DSP?
This DSP thing intrigues me to the point of getting no sleep. What kind of DSP does iPhones have, or do iPhones apps use any DSP at all? Could it be possible to make no. 1 mobile synth with N9?
Besides having a portable composition tool, a mobile synth could also work as an effects device. Perhaps the DSP could be put to good use here? Right now I'm looking to buy a leslie cabinet simulator to boost my credibility as an organist, and these devices alone can cost over 200€. Millions of guitarists search for new distortions, delays and reverbs and are willing to spend big money on them. Having a good multi effect device around, that would fit in a pocket, would make many manufacturers sweat.
Edit
Could it be possible to make VST Host!!!!????!!!!
