I would tell anyone that is interested in the N9 to go use one especially one that is online and can make phone calls and surf the web, use the thing as much as possible before actually buying it.

Perhaps next year we'll get a movie adaptation of this comic:

You know what? I thought it wasn't possible, but I may be wrong.
I just tried adding another account, and it showed me the MfE account setup option.
I'll report back after testing with my wife's settings once she gets home.

And... It just works?

Glad to hear some positive reviews on the N9. I'd really like to hear more, since the odds of me seeing one state side are slim. (And the odds of one being available to play with at a given store being 0.)

Sorry, but that's not at all true. Linux versions of Flash have come quite a long way in the not too distant past. I run Fedora at home, 64-bit, and the Flash support on it is actually better than on Windows. I had to add an extra repository, and upgrade my browser to meet package requirements, but that's expected.

I'm also all for open standards, but I'm not going to limit myself to things that are strictly open, or use a crappy replacement/wanna-be just because it's more open. If I did that, I wouldn't have gotten an N900, since it's far more closed than the FreeRunner I already had. Except the FreeRunner couldn't actually do things reliably, like get calls, or run on it's battery for more than 8 hours.

I'm all about improving the world of opensource, and using it where it's feasible. But I also live in the real world, where sometimes closed is the only viable option to get a task done.
