Were you using transmission to download 'videos' ?

The reason it happens is because vfat is a very fragile file format, ext3 is much more stable, but converting requires reformatting your MyDocs which can in it's self be quite a troublesome process.

Glad it all worked out for you. You can sleep easy now

ran the suggested procedure but my device keeps giving same error

What error? Post the output please (including the command that you ran - not just the output)

Would plugging the device on a Windows machine and running chkdisk help?
