Greetings:

I attempted to install the new OS2008 firmware and within 4 minutes of the download it stated, file corruption.

I think I'll wait a couple of days before downloading.

I don't want to brick my N800.

Regards Robert

But to be realistic, yes, server capacity has GOT to increase.
Hey texrat, don't take this the wrong way, but you should try to take out the Nokia T-shirt from time to time. These download rates are very frustrating, specially because we are waiting for the new OS since November... It is logic that some people can get mad, don't you think?

Maybe they should put a limit of simultaneous downloads into their servers? I see that on most other file upload places (game demos etc.), where you need to wait in queue until your turn comes.

While this is still not ideal situation, at least it guarantees that people who managed to get hold on the download will get it with reasonable speed, without slowing down to a crawl when more people keeps coming...

Remember, the tablets are still a small project at Nokia, so that might be why they still don't have the types of resources needed to feed 300k users a 130MB file within 5 minutes.

I'm sure that once we get closer to step 5 of the 5 step tablet process we were told about, they'll have more resources. I'm sure that Quim already knows about the trouble too and that he'll work to get it fixed. It might not be today, it might not be tomorrow... but I'm sure they'll get the resources they need eventually... if someone higher up approves, anyways.

For now, it's a little bit painful, but I was able to get the firmware update from a link posted in this thread in 3 minutes.

My computer is reporting my finished download as 134mb, is that the wrong size?
