Folks:

Check the md5sum on any file you dl. I did not and my tablet looked like it was bricked. I then had a sweaty wait until I got another copy to try again.

(On Windows I used winMd5Sum from: http://www.nullriver.com/index/products)

It's all relative.

And I don't begrudge you the privilege of complaining-- I just don't believe extremism helps the situation. But that's just my opinion and I don't expect anyone to necessarily agree.

But... based on what I usually get, I'll ***** and moan about this rate...

If we just roll over and accept the rubbish we're given we'll never get anything better. I can't even start a download of the file now. For 2007 and a company the size of Nokia it's just unacceptable.

I uploaded the N800 file to my rootserver. Should be fast.

I've only got 20 megs left on the n810 download but the time remaining is increasing every 5 minutes or so, right now it's at 2 hours and 15 minutes to finish =/

14 pages, and so far about a dozen posts with anything useful, the rest just complaining about file speeds. Was it really that much of a surprise (it happens everytime)? Much easier to sit and wait a little while, or catch onto the torrents.

But-- that's another extreme!

I'm not really telling you how to behave Steve. Just expressing my opinion. Yes, venting can be productive... especially if done through critical channels. I just don't think ANY sort of extremism is the best approach-- be that exaggeration or inaction. Your mileage may vary.

I'm still re-installing all my stuff after the update. Should have more changes/thoughts on Tablet-Guru this afternoon.

Torrent is up to 11 seeds, going alot quicker now. I'll leave it seeding till tomorrow night.

I uploaded a zipped copy of the N800 image here: http://www.abailard.com/Nokia/RX-34_...ED_MR0_ARM.zip. I was able to download it in less than 5 minutes.

I'll leave it up until my ISP starts to whine about the traffic.

I too am doing my part for the community. Here is my FTP of the binary, and I too will keep it up until I get flack.

I tested this and I could download the file in under ten minutes.

Enjoy !
