I have submitted Python-SymPy v0.7.1, see :

But I need to be the maintainer to promote the new version from extras-devel to extras-testing. I have tried contacting the current maintainer (Tom Tanner) with no success. I also have requested to be Python-SymPy maintainer, but the request is still pending for more than one week.

Could some Maemo administrator approve me as Python-SymPy maintainer ?

Python-SymPy is currently used by "Integral" and soon to be released "Derivative", "Limit" and "Power Series". I am the author of these softwares.

So I think it is important that Python-SymPy gain visibility by being promoted to extras-testing and perhaps extras.

You should post a link back here in the "ask the council" thread, ask the same in the developers mailing list and maybe send a post in xfade (Neils) if all the other fail..

I know it is stupid, but it is a problem it has happened already a few times and there is no real solution (AFAIK).

I am new to Maemo promoting to extras-testing, so any help is welcome. But "python-sympy-doc" was promoted to extras-testing without a glitch :

SymPy is now divided in 3 packages :

python-sympy (python section)
python-sympy-ui (interactive shell, with isympy and an icon)
python-sympy-doc (doc section)

I have succeeded to promote python-sympy, python-sympy-ui and python-sympy-doc to extras-testing on Maemo 5.

On Maemo 4, python-sympy and python-sympy-doc were promoted from extras-devel to extras. python-sympy-ui is not yet released to Maemo 4 due to an old version of iPython which is incompatible with isympy, so I will try to release iPython 0.10-2 to Maemo 4/5.
