He truly was one of the greats. Almost everything in modern computing is built on top of the work he did 4 decades ago.

The C Programming Language is a must for every person planning to write a programming related book. So simple, not too long, but still comprehensive. Hard to find as good books nowdays.

I'll indent my Java K&R style today...

Dennis [The Legend] Ritchie dies and there is only 6 comments, while Steve [Head] Jobs dies and gets 13 pages!!!
