Just read the package info and noticed that i was a fool LOL
Just edit the overclock profile as everytime you lock your phone, the underclock profile will be loaded and when you unlock your phone, the overclock profile will be loaded. So whatever settings that you have made will be reset unless saved in those profiles

So to enable smartreflex, qcpufreq would be useless. Install leafpad and edit the profile, then save
leafpad /usr/share/kernel-power-settings/overclock

Karam, there's a typo in speedpatch-batterypatch-remove.txt linked on the first page, isn't there? The two lines rm /home/user.bashrc should be rm /home/user/.bashrc, shouldn't they?

Also, shouldn't there be a warning about removing .profile and .bashrc? I just tried these lines after using apt-get remove --purge speedpatch and there were no backups of .profile or .bashrc so it just deleted these.

i just fixed the typo

and there must be a backup .profile.bak and .bashrc.bak

just look at the postinst script
when installing speedpatch the debian package will create a bak of the old profile and bashrc if existed

even after using full removal script
there is should be a backup of them

the non-kp version has no smartreflex because it has no kernel-power
only pausing processes (which i will remove later)
so only vfs trick is the effective = only saving power at standby

but the kp version improves standby and continues

The issue is that I already did apt-get remove --purge speedpatch, then decided to use the manual removal as per those instructions. Is it not the case that the automatic install removes the backup files, .bashrc.bak and .profile.bak? So doing the automatic and then doing the manual simply deletes .bashrc and .profile without restoring backups?

Also, I have another issue relating to the display of the following in x-term:

BusyBox v1.19.2 (Debian 1.19.2power1) built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.

-sh: /home/user/.bashrc: line 5: can't create /dev/cgroup/cpu/user/xxxx/tasks: nonexistent directory

What happens to me is that this is displayed momentarily and then the screen is replaced by the 'clean' version. This happens every time, even after reboot. Any idea what is going on?

Is there a more up do date version of speedpatch only that is not in repos? Also, I was under the impression that I shouldn't install batterypatch if I am overclocking - is this still the case? Thank you.

there is no other speedpatch version than the one in repo

it's stable now as i fixed the latest problem

and that error means that speedpatch isn't working on your N900

still i can't find out why this happens with some N900s

Just to be clear: it shows this screen only for a second or so


and then it almost immediately replaces it with this screen:


The fact that it does this, only showing the first screen for a second or so - this means it is not working on my N900? Because this only started happening recently - after I did a reinstall.

Also, I get this behaviour even after uninstalling speedpatch using the script.
